The cake produced by Guangdong Wei norgren Animation Food Zhujin Branch was found to have exceeded the preservative standard.

China Quality News Network News (Hiroshima) Recently, Hangzhou Municipal Market Supervision Administration announced the 12th food sampling information. Among them, a cake produced by Zhujin Branch of Guangdong Wei norgren Animation Food Co., Ltd. failed the sampling inspection.

The sampling information shows that the sampling inspection of Qiwuhuatian coated cake (matcha flavor) (production date: 2021-12-01) (specification: 224g/bag) sold by Runjia Commercial (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. and produced by Zhujin Branch of Guangdong Wei norgren Animation Food Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zhujin Branch of Guangdong Wei norgren Animation Food") is unqualified, involving natamycin, etc.

It is reported that natamycin is a natural antifungal compound produced by Streptomyces fermentation, belonging to polyene macrolides, which can not only effectively inhibit the growth of various molds and yeasts, but also inhibit the production of mycotoxins, and can be widely used in food preservation and antifungal treatment. The reason why natamycin is unqualified may be that enterprises overuse natamycin in order to extend the shelf life.

The National Standard for Food Safety-Standard for the Use of Food Additives (GB 2760-2014) stipulates that when preservatives are used together, the sum of their respective dosages shall not exceed 1. The test result of this cake sampled this time is 3.09.

According to reports, preservatives refer to natural or synthetic chemical components, which are used to delay or inhibit food spoilage caused by microorganisms. Common preservatives include benzoic acid and its sodium salt, sorbic acid and its sodium salt. The reason why the sum of the respective dosages of preservatives in cakes accounts for the maximum dosage exceeds the standard may be that the production enterprises do not know enough about the national standards, thus adding a variety of different preservatives in excess.

China Quality News Network has learned that the Hangzhou Municipal Market Supervision Administration has handed over the unqualified products found in the above-mentioned food safety supervision and sampling inspection to the market supervision department and relevant departments where the enterprise is located to dispose of the unqualified products and their production and operation enterprises in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety Law.
